Application deadlines

Spring admissions

• For the MSE M.Eng. Spring 2025, please submit your application by November 1, 2024.
• Cornell seniors interested in the Early Admit Pathway for the Spring semester, apply for Fall 2025 admission by November 1, 2024.

Fall admissions

• For the MSE M.Eng. Fall 2025, please submit your applications for priority review by January 15.

All applications received before the priority review deadline will receive full consideration. Applications received through the end of May will be considered for available openings in the program.

Test requirements

GRE

• Optional

English language proficiency

International students must meet one of the two following requirements: (Information on exemptions)

• TOEFL (IBT version) 
  • Minimum scores: writing (20), listening (15), reading (20), speaking: (22); total score (100)
• IELTS (academic)
  • Minimum overall band score (7.0)

Essays

• Each applicant must submit an Academic Statement of Purpose and a Personal Statement.

Letters of Recommendation

• Three letters of recommendation are required (two for current Cornell students).
• Letters may be submitted by faculty members or those familiar with your professional performance.

Transcripts

• Unofficial transcripts (in English) must be submitted with your application.
• Upon admission, students are required to submit an official transcript. Email official transcripts to the MSE Program.
