Why did you choose to major in MSE MEng at Cornell?
I had a background in MSE, and I was looking to quickly gain advanced skills to jumpstart my career in the electronics industry. The MSE MEng program seemed ideal because of its structure, flexibility, and the opportunity to gain direct exposure to industrial research by the means of a technical project.
Description of your project topic/lab(s):
I worked at the Advanced Process Lab (APL) of Universal Instruments Corporation (UIC) on a diverse set of topics. I got to work on complex problems related to thermal interface materials (TIMs), flexible electronics, reliability testing, and conformal coatings.
What has been your favorite class or experience at Cornell MSE MEng and why?
My favorite experience at Cornell MSE MEng was my industrial project which helped me gain invaluable knowledge and skills, meet amazing people, grow as a person, and become a mature professional.
What clubs/organizations do you participate in at Cornell?
I was in the Academic Integrity Hearing Board (AIHB), SPICMACAY, and Asha Cornell. I also actively took part in chess club meetings.
Do you have any advice for students considering MSE MEng?
Keep calm and go to Cornell!
While at Cornell/MSE, what did you do for fun?
I used to visit the Big Red Barn for various events on Friday evenings. I also used to play table tennis and foosball to let off steam.
Favorite Cornell/MSE memory?
Presenting my poster at the 4th Annual MSE Awards Dinner and winning the Master of Engineering Project Innovation Award.
What's the next step for you?
I am looking forward to starting my career in the electronics packaging industry and continuing my journey in the field of MSE.
