Undergraduate Program

Undergraduate Laboratory

Hands-on laboratory experience is a vital part of the MS&E undergrad curriculum, and the Undergrad Lab provides a dedicated facility for this work.  Students perform experiments in the lab that cover all classes of materials, as well as the various topics in MS&E, including synthesis of materials and tests to characterize their properties.

The lab was originally established thanks in large part to the support of Theodore C. Ohart '29 and has undergone significant upgrades in the past several years thanks to generous donations from alumni.  For more information on the lab or anything in the following pages, please contact Totka D. Ouzounova at tdo4@cornell.edu or (607)262-0218.
Further Information
Classes
In addition to undergrad research, the lab is used extensively by MS&E classes.  Check the Classes page for a list of courses that use the lab and links to course pages and experiments.

Equipment

Safety
All work done in the lab is performed with safety as a primary concern.  Students working in the lab must complete safety training through Cornell Environmental Health & Safety.  The Safety page contains specific guidelines for working in the lab.
