Hands-on laboratory experience is a vital part of the MS&E undergrad curriculum, and the Undergrad Lab provides a dedicated facility for this work. Students perform experiments in the lab that cover all classes of materials, as well as the various topics in MS&E, including synthesis of materials and tests to characterize their properties.
The lab was originally established thanks in large part to the support of Theodore C. Ohart '29 and has undergone significant upgrades in the past several years thanks to generous donations from alumni.
