Professor of Materials Science and Engineering in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University since July 1, 1987.

Current Research

The main research areas of the Dieckmann group the point defect structure of inorganic, nonmetallic compounds, the transport of matter and charge in ceramic solids including glasses and the kinetics and morphology of solid state reactions.

Research Projects

Current research projects include defects and transport in orthosilicates and the diffusion of cations in glasses and the influence of water on it.
