The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Materials Science and Engineering (MS&E) is a one-year, professionally oriented program which prepares students for engineering or engineering management careers in business, government, and industry. The M.Eng. degree builds upon the technical skills developed by completing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Students may focus on theoretical or applied courses in MS&E, on related disciplines, or on engineering management. The curriculum is flexible and interdisciplinary so that students can tailor coursework to their personal interests and different backgrounds. There is no requirement for a thesis in the M.Eng. program. Instead, students participate in individual or team-based projects under the supervision of world-renowned faculty. Students completing an M.Eng. degree typically join the professional ranks with higher starting salaries and advanced levels of responsibility compared to B.S. degree recipients.
Please see the program description for more detailed information about the MS&E M.Eng. program.
